Hard
Armour Plates should be used in conjunction with the soft armour jackets
if the threat level perception is above Level-IIIA of
NIJ

For threat level-III, i.e., for AK-47 Mild Steel Core
Bullets & SLR ammunition, the Hard Armour Plates can be of Hybrid
ceramic plates and light weight HPPE plates. The Hybrid plate weighs 2 Kgs
and the light weight plate weighs 1.5Kgs maximum. For AK-47 Hard Steel
Core Bullets, the Hard Armour Plates can be of Hybrid ceramic plates
weighs 2.5 Kgs. Both the plates have multi-hit capability. The plates with
the dimensions of 250mmx 300mm has a curvature which fits to the human
torso.
For threat level-IV, i.e., for AP ammunition, the Hard
Armour Plates can be of Hybrid ceramic plates. The Hybrid plate weighs 3
Kgs maximum. The plates are designed for single shot as per NIJ. The
plates with the dimensions of 250mmx 300mm has a curvature which fits to
the human torso.
